Carnegie Leaders in Learning Partnership are the Regional Provider of Assessment for Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) status across the North of England From 2004 to March 2011 Carnegie Leaders hosted the regional centre for the TDA in Yorkshire and the Humber driving the workforce modernisation and reform agenda in schools.
Carnegie Leaders in Learning Partnership provides development opportunities and consultancy support for leaders at all levels in Services for Children and Young People, including the following programmes on behalf of the National College: - National Professional Qualification for Headship (since 1996) - Early Headship Provision (since 2005) - Leadership Pathways (since 2005) - Leading from the Middle (since 2005) From 2003 to 2005 Carnegie Leaders in Learning fulfilled the role of the Yorkshire and Humber Affiliated Centre for the National College, providing the Affiliated Centre Director and central administration. During 2004 the Affiliated Centre was contracted by the National College to become the regional centre for the National Remodelling Team. Carnegie Leaders in Learning continues to hold the contract (now with TDA) for delivery of TDA programmes within the Yorkshire and Humber Region. In addition we delivered: - National Professional Qualification for Integrated Centre Leadership (2005 to 2008) - Developing Capacity for Sustained Improvement (2005 to 2010) - Working Together for Success (2005 to 2010)
Following Carnegie Leaders' extensive work in helping organisations improve their impact and effectiveness, a partnership has been formed between Participation Works and the National Children's Bureau. Participation Works is a partnership of six national children and young people's agencies that enables organisations to effectively involve children and young people in the development, delivery and evaluation of services that affect their lives. NCB is the leading national charity which supports children, young people and families and those who work with them. Their vision is a society in which children and young people are valued, their rights respected and responsibilities enhanced; their mission, to advance the well-being of children and young people across every aspect of their lives. Together Carnegie Leaders, Participation Works and NCB have designed and are delivering a modular programme to enable organisations improve their impact. Carnegie Leaders' brings knowledge and experience of impact evaluation; Participation Works brings expertise in ensuring the full participation of children and young people are embedded; and NCB brings a wealth of knowledge and extensive network across the children and young people's sector.
The Diana Awards vision is to promote a culture that celebrates young people from all sections of society who have made a selfless contribution to their community.Carnegie Leaders in Learning Partnership worked together with the Diana Award to enable them to define and implement impact measures. We are now delighted to be working together to recognise and support the amazing work carried out by young people whether they are volunteers, fundraisers, campaigners, carers, peer supporters or anyone working for the benefit of others.
Carnegie Leaders in Learning Partnership, working in partnership with Manchester University (CEL) and Teesside University Business School, as The Northern Partnership, hold the contracts (since 2005) for the delivery of a number of National College programmes across the North West, North East and Yorkshire and Humber. The Northern Partnership has been instrumental in raising and stabilising the quality of Leadership Provision across the North of England.
The consortium, which has existed for over a decade and works closely together, includes: all Local Authorities in the Yorkshire and Humber Region; a number of universities; representatives of the Professional Associations; Diocesan Authorities, and private sector providers. Both members of the Carnegie Leaders in Learning Partnership have been an integral part of the consortium since its inception in 1995/6. The consortium’s collaborative role has been to integrate and implement national initiatives in ways that fit regional and local requirements. We continue to build a supportive environment where we share information and develop collaborative ways of working.
The Children’s Workforce Development Council (CWDC) leads change so that the thousands of people and volunteers working with children and young people across England are able to do the best job they possibly can. Carnegie Leaders in Learning Partnership currently delivers the following on behalf of CWDC: - Leadership and Management programme for Leaders and Managers of front line staff in Playwork settings which includes the recruitment and delivery of the leadership development programme for Yorkshire and Humber and the North West of England. - Continuous Quality Improvement of the Early Years Professional Status (EYPS) across the country in order to improve the quality of EYPS training and assessment processes. During 2008/2009 Carnegie Leaders worked in partnership with CWDC consultants and the Freeston Business and Enterprise College to deliver the Children and Young Peoples Leadership and Management Project. Carnegie Leaders consultants created a process which enabled the young people from Freeston to interview senior leaders of children’s services and produce creative materials which reflected their views to then present to a national steering group.
The Brigshaw Trust brings together eight schools from the Brigshaw Federation who have been working closely and successfully together over recent years. The members of the shared ‘Trust’ have come together to strengthen and sustain partnership working and to help drive for improved standards both in the schools and across the wider community. The trust also contains a carefully selected range of partners, invited to join the trust by the schools themselves. Carnegie Leaders in Learning Partnership are proud to be one of the selected partners. The role of Carnegie Leaders in Learning Partnership: - Support the development of a ‘Professional Learning Culture and Community’ across the Trust for staff, children and young people - Support the evaluation of the schools’ work and the impact this has on improving provision and raising aspirations and attainment - Provide links to academic research and development and accreditation - Promote the training and development of staff within the Trust schools and signpost schools and individuals to potential training and development opportunities - Work with Trust schools to collaboratively develop workforce development opportunities - Provide advice and guidance in relation to initial teacher training provision - Facilitate access to examples of effective practice from across the educational world for Trust schools to learn from and network with - Seek to engage the Trust in innovative projects
We are working with the Navigate Group to deliver the Equal Access to Promotion programme developed by the NUT and the National College. This is a positive action programme and is aimed at black and minority ethnic teachers who aspire to leadership roles.
As an organisation we value diversity both internally and in our partnership working. We are a member of a Diversity Steering group which involves working with Local Authorities across the Yorkshire and Humber region. The group has developed a regional programme aimed at breaking down the barriers for BME aspirant leaders in the region.
Launched in January 2011 the CLEAR initiative aims to be a recognised centre for the development of leaders for Children’s and Young People’s services. CLEAR brings together the local authorities of Hull, East Riding of Yorkshire, North East Lincs, North Lincs, York and North Yorkshire as well as the University of Hull, Carnegie Leaders in Learning Partnership, York St John University, local Training Schools, the Urban Leadership Centre and the National College. The Centres priorities include: - Retaining talented leaders - Attracting and recruiting talented leaders - Supporting leadership development at all levels - Identifying talented leaders - Inducting and developing leaders - Developing leaders in the context of Integrated Working
