SKILLS FOR
SENIOR LEADERS

Skills for Senior Leaders is a professional development
programme for those who are taking on senior leadership
responsibility perhaps for the first time. It introduces core senior
leadership skills and helps to develop those required in leading
successful teams.

The programme is designed to help participants develop their senior leadership skills through leading and implementing a team project.

Key aspects are:

To undertake a diagnostic to understand your strengths and areas for development
The role of a senior leader in developing others
To understand the connection between emotional intelligence and leadership
The role of a senior leader in developing a coaching culture
To develop an understanding of how networked environments can contribute towards learning
Project planning

The ability to motivate high levels of performance in a team
Build capacity in an organisation, others and yourself
Coaching
Analytical ability to project plan effectively
Verbal communication and presentation
To give and receive feedback

1.5 days + 4 workshop sessions spread over 6 to 12 months. Also half a day to visit a partner organisation and half a day to host a visit from another participant.

Skills for Senior Leaders is aimed at those in a senior leadership role in education perhaps for the first time.
