DEVELOPING
SENIOR
LEADERSHIP
TEAMS

A National College programme designed to enhance the leadership skills of senior teams in secondary schools to help deliver improved outcomes for children and young people through school improvement. Tailored to address school-specific development priorities, with a focus on facilitation rather than direction.
PROGRAMME CONTENT

Key aspects are:

  • Analysis of the SLT's challenges and ways of working
  • A two-day workshop led by an experienced facilitator
  • Visits to compare other schools' experience of priority issues
  • Ongoing in-school consultancy
  • Identifying next steps and embedding ongoing development for the SLT
  • Access to a wide range of leadership and team development learning materials

Six to nine months to complete. Timing of the different components of the programme is appropriate and convenient for the SLT.

To sustain and improve the high quality and integrity of its programme delivery, Carnegie Leaders in Learning Partnership has a continuous quality improvement (CQI) policy. This includes ongoing participant evaluation, gaining a management perspective and measures of the impact of the programme over time
