CQI of Early Years Professional Status
Carnegie Leaders in Learning Partnership currently has a contract with the Children’s Workforce Development Council (CWDC) to work with providers of the Early Years Professional Status (EYPS). Our activities centre around a Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI) plan designed to support providers throughout the country to continuously improve the quality of EYPS training and assessment processes. Our work involves identifying local and more generic issues and facilitating a range of training and development activities to support providers. We have also been able to address some key issues of concern to providers by developing supportive guidance documentation. Our achievements thus far have been to:
- Design and produce guidance documentation related to GCSE requirements for EYPS
- Design and produce guidance documentation related to the support of candidates as they engage with the EYPS programme
- Produce EYPS standards related activities for use by providers in preparing candidates for assessment
- Produce an assessor training programme and resources so that providers can train their own assessors
- Train Lead Assessors to use the training materials
- Establish a regionally based Lead Assessor training and development network
Our methodology involves facilitating and enabling representatives of the provider community to work together to identify and understand their issues and process development needs and then develop solutions in consultation with the providers.
